Kiki's House of Righteous Music presents: Steve Dawson and Diane Christiansen of Dolly Varden

Steve and Diane will be playing songs from his solo and the DV catalogs as well as celebrating the release of Steve's sixth solo record Ghosts (out June 7 on the excellent Pravda label). While this is his first headlining show, Steve is no stranger to the basement, having been here previously with the Heartland Songwriters Revue and Nora O'Connor.

Kiki's House of Righteous Music presents: Kevin Gordon Trio

No one writes about Louisiana the way Kevin Gordon does. He's currently working on the long-awaited follow-up to 2018's Tilt & Shine, so expect a lot of new songs along with old favorites. Kevin's last show at KHoRM was way back at the beginning of 2020, so his return has been long-awaited as well.

Kiki's House of Righteous Music presents: Jenny Parrott

Jenny Parrott first played the house way back in 2008 with her band the Shotgun Party (show 23), and again with the duo Loves It! as well as solo. She returns as a relatively new mom with a brand new record. She describes Love Spell, her fourth solo release, as "a folk record for people who like the X-Files." That's all of us, right?

Kiki's House of Righteous Music presents: Scott H Biram

The Dirty Old One Man Band makes his first basement appearance and I'm pretty excited about it. Biram released his 13th record The One & Only Scott H Biram earlier this year on Bloodshot Records. He takes a handful of genres, twists them all up and spits them out in his gravelly voice accompanying himself with a beat-up guitar and stomp box. Like he says, "it might be baptism, or it might be murder, either way…you gonna see the light."

Kiki's House of Righteous Music presents: Rosie Flores & the Talismen

The night before the rockabilly filly plays the big stage at Kiki's Sixth Righteous Session on August 9, she'll be rocking the basement with her excellent backing band the Talismen. Don't miss your chance to see this national treasure (she was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts this year!) twice.

Our House presents: Mike Vitale

All the way from Los Angeles, Mike is a top-notch singer-songwriter. He has spent years performing at local and regional venues, coffeeshops, bars, restaurants, resorts, hotels, shopping centers, street corners, corporate events, private parties, record stores, colleges, and universities. When we heard his version of Graceland, we were sold. It’s damn near as good as Paul Simon’s.

Our House presents: The Honey Pies

In September 2017 three veteran Madison musicians, vocalist Jodi Jean Amble, singer and guitarist Tom Waselchuk, and multi-instrumentalist Doug Brown, put together a set of material for a one-and-done performance at the annual Spring Green BeatleFest. That set was enthusiastically received, and the players came away feeling the spark of a kindred musical spirit. So began the Honey Pies. Bassist and vocalist Matt Rodgers is now the fourth member of the band. Displaying a formidable range of musical backgrounds and notable depth of experience, The Honey Pies apply crystal vocal harmonies and virtuoso instrumental skills to the best of traditional, contemporary, and original Americana music.

Our House presents: Katie Dahl

Clear-eyed and tough-minded, songwriter/playwright Katie Dahl is known for her smart songs, wry wit, and wise spirit. Firmly rooted in Door County, where her family has lived for 175 years, Katie is also an internationally touring, radio-charting artist who “delivers razor-sharp lyrics with a hearty, soulful voice” (American Songwriter). In live shows that are both courageously honest and devilishly funny, Katie dives deep into questions of land and love, family and body image, grief and joy. “In unsettled times,” says Peter Mulvey, “Katie Dahl brings us a grounded spirit.”
