It's hard to believe, but the Silos are turning 40 this year. The line-up has shifted some over the years, but the one constant is Walter Salas-Humara, a great singer, songwriter and storyteller. Also a terrific human being with the best smile in music. This will be a full band show featuring Jonathan Rundman as well as longtime drummer Konrad Meissner.

Kiki's House of Righteous Music presents: Whitney Mann

Whitney Mann took a break from playing to raise a family, but now she's back and she hasn't lost a beat. A show at Cafe Carpe last year proved that her voice is better than ever, and her intelligence and honesty shone. It's been a decade since she's been in the basement, and I'm looking forward to welcoming her back.

Our House presents: Tim Grimm

Our first outdoor concert of 2025! Tim Grimm is a Renaissance man in the performing arts world, forging a rich and varied career that blends his love of songwriting, travel, and acting in theatre, film and television. For most of his 25-year career as a storytelling balladeer in the tradition of John Prine, Woody Guthrie, and Bob Dylan, Tim has written primarily about community, history, family, and social issues - often framed by his strong sense of place and the many years he spent on the family farm he built in rural Indiana. His songs are filled with rural characters and landscapes, written and sung with vivid warmth and intimacy. We love Tim's music and so will you.

Our House presents: Joe Nosak and Lee Kanehira

Songwriter, harmonica giant and singer Joe Nosek of Madison’s famed Cash Box Kings and blues master pianist Queen Lee Kanehira will rock up the backyard with harmonica, piano, and a whole lotta blues.

A self-described blues fanatic, Joe spent his youth soaking up as much blues music as he could hear, live and on record. In his teens, he began sneaking into blues clubs to watch Junior Wells, James Cotton, Otis Rush, Jimmy Rogers, Sunnyland Slim and others. After moving to Madison in the early 1990s, he began sitting in with artists such as Clyde Stubblefield and Luther Allison. The Cash Box Kings released their first album, Live! At The King Club, in 2003, instantly earning praise from critics and fans, and gaining a reputation as one of the hottest live bands on the circuit. [website]

Hailing from Tagawa, a coal mining city in South Japan, Lee Kanehira played classical piano in her childhood, but met the blues after college and has never looked back. Dedicated to playing old school Chicago blues, Lee was the Chicago Blues Piano Contest winner in 2018. She’s a frequent collaborator with the Cash Box Kings, making the blues sing across the US and around the world. [website]

Our House presents: Randy Sabien, Jeff Laramie, and Dawn Ferris

These three folk stars will make our living room shine with everything from folk legend Jim Post’s tunes to Randy’s jazz violin to Free Hot Lunch WaHa! music to classic country.

Randy Sabien is a bluesy, rockin', swingin', funky, jazz violinist. With an intensely rhythmic, vibrant and inventive style, he has captivated audiences worldwide, playing with scores of bands and musicians of all stripes. At age 21, he founded the string department at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and hasn’t stopped performing and teaching here in Wisconsin and around the world. “Listen closely to Sabien's great cascades of notes, and you will hear the grand arpeggios, broken octaves, double-stops, trills, and tremolos that have marked classical violin playing since the solo work of J.S. Bach. But that's just the starting point for Sabien's art which bristles with the spirit of bona fide jazz improvisation. Rather than simply embellishing a tune, he re-concieves it, building and developing intriguing new musical motifs along the way.” ~ Howard Reich, CHICAGO TRIBUNE

Jeff Laramie’s famous for his years with Free Hot Lunch!, a Madison-based band known for its zaniness and originality. He also founded SRO Artists and has been a concert promoter and agent for stars such as Patty Larkin and Karla Bonoff.

Rounding it out is Dawn Farris, a talented musician from Stoughton, WI!
