Mad Folk/Wild Hog - Summer Folk 2010Folk in the Rotunda
[more on this series...]

Presented by Madison Folk Music Society and Wild Hog in the Woods*

Boo Bradley (playing at 11:00 am) is a hot blues stompin’, jelly roll jumpin’, rag jazz infusin’, two-man acoustic jug attack from Madtown, Wisconsin. These boys throw down a porch stomp boogie chock full of old time Delta moans from the likes of Son House and Charley Patton, the Piedmont shake of Blind Boy Fuller and the earliest Chicago Ragtime mastery of cats like Blind Blake and Big Bill Broonzy. None of these names sound familiar? Well, never you mind. Once you get a wiff of what these fellers are cookin’, your feet’ll know what to do, ‘cause when Boo and Brad put their groove stamp on a tune you can’t call it nothin’ but good ol’ ho-maid jelly.  [for more see link at right]

Madison's own Tracy Jane Comer (playing at 12:00 noon) is an award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has toured in various regions of the U.S. and opened for national acts including Willy Porter, the Wailin' Jennys, Holly Near, Ellis Paul, Peter Mulvey, and others. She was named Instrumentalist of the Year by the 2008 Madison Area Music Awards. She has been featured in Guitar Player magazine and had her music played on two episodes of MTV's show Made. In addition to her solo work she is part of a number of groups and side projects and recently joined the active Madison area country/Top 40 band Wild Heart, in which she sings lead and backing vocals and plays guitar, fiddle, and keyboard.
For this performance, Tracy will be joined by guest Delores Jennison backing vocals.

“Claudia Russell is a great live performer and Live Band Tonight proves that. Her band...Let’s just say they’re hot. Connect them to the power grid and they’d light up a medium-sized town…This CD is as musically solid as they come and in the world of obligatory live CDs, Live Band Tonight shines.”

Mad Folk/Wild Hog - Summer Folk 2010Folk in the Rotunda
[more on this series...]

11:00 am - Annie & Rod Capps  - Songs about broken things and poignant little ponderings are delivered with a rootsy vibe, a touch of twang and a soulful groove. Annie and Rod are on a musical journey that began in 1982, culminating into a symbiotic sound that reflects their deep and intuitive understanding of each other. Over the years, Annie and Rod have done it all; from rock to musical theater and while they continue to draw from a wide range of genres and influences, what comes out is a hybrid sound all their own. Genuine and playful; effortless and endearing; this duo has been enchanting audiences in quality music venues, house concerts, coffeehouses and festivals throughout their home state of Michigan and beyond.
"The audience is drawn in right from the beginning with Annie's amazing voice and the power of her songs. She has a way of making everyone in the venue feel like she is his or her personal friend." – Dave Rutkofske, Blue Water Folk Society (Thumbfest)

12:00 pm - Small Potatoes - The Chicago based folk duo of Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso say it has taken them years of careful indecision to develop a repertoire they describe as "Celtic to Cowboy." Superb musicianship and showmanship, award-winning songwriting, and a strong sense of tradition has made them, as Dirty Linen Magazine said, "one of the most polished, inventive, and entertaining shows on the circuit."
