Bill Staines
"Any new song that can live comfortably
beside the well-worn songs of folk tradition has a good chance of
surviving the test of time. Such, we believe, are the songs of Bill
Staines."
- Charles "Sandy" Paton, Folk Legacy Records
For over thirty five years, Bill has traveled back and forth across North America, singing his songs and delighting audiences at festivals, folksong societies, colleges, concerts, clubs and coffeehouses. Singing mostly his own songs, he has become one of the most popular singers on the folk music circuit today and averages around 200 concert dates a year. Bill weaves a magical blend of wit and gentle humor into his performances, and as one
reviewer wrote, "he has
a sense of timing to match the best stand-up comic." His music is a slice of Americana, reflecting with the same ease, his feelings about the prairie people of the Midwest or the adventurers of the Yukon.

Peggy Seeger
PEGGY SEEGER, member of the North American musical Seeger family, is a singer of traditional Anglo-American songs and an activist songmaker. Considered to be one of N. America's finest revival singers of traditional songs, Peggy has also written music for films, television and radio. She has collaborated on books of folksongs with Edith Fowke, Alan Lomax and Ewan MacColl. She has made 22 solo LPs and collaborated with other performers (Tom Paley, Mike Seeger, Guy Carawan, Ewan MacColl) on more records than she can remember. In the mid-1970s she began to concentrate on feminist and ecological issues. Peggy plays six instruments: piano, guitar, 5-string banjo, Appalachian dulcimer, autoharp and English concertina. She now lives in Boston, Massachusetts, and tours regularly worldwide.
"For me, the Peggy Seeger concert was a trip to the past -- so many coffee houses, hootenannies, and sing-alongs in the '50s and '60s, so much outrage, so much hope, so many dreams. It was a reminder of our heritage of ballads and story songs -- of our country and its roots in the Old World."
- Lucy V. Parker

Jack Williams / Ronny Cox
Jack Williams, a South Carolina-born artist, is celebrated by the contemporary U.S. folk community as a singer/songwriter of national stature and an uncommonly unique guitarist whom Sing Out! Magazine describes as "one of the strongest guitarists in contemporary folk." A featured performer on the Philadelphia and Kerrville main stages, Jack has also appeared on the Newport, (New Bedford) Summerfest and Boston Folk Festival stages. In addition to his successful solo career, Jack's credits include guitar work with legendary singer/songwriters Mickey Newbury, Harry Nilsson, Tom Paxton, Peter Yarrow, and Steve Gillette, among others.
"If there is anyone not familiar with Jack's incredible songwriting and prodigious performance skills, my sympathies to you. A Jack Williams show is a slam-dunk win-win-win for all. One of the most enlightened and entertaining performers I've ever encountered."
- Dave Humpreys, Two Way Street Coffeehouse in Downers Grove IL

Most people know of Ronny Cox's acting
career, but not so many know of his life-long love and dedication to
music. These days, Ronny spends about half of his time acting and the other half as a singer/songwriter performing at
folk festivals, concert venues and small intimate theatres.
"...[Cox] played slithery corporate snakes in "RoboCop" and "Total Recall;" but as a singer-songwriter, he is a study in easygoing amiability and unforced charisma. He charms crowds with self-teasing humor, tart progressive insight, and a lulling Southwestern folk sound..."
- Scott Alarik, The Boston Globe

Bob Franke
Consider this list: Peter, Paul and Mary; David Wilcox; John McCutcheon; Sally Rogers; Lui Collins; Garnet Rogers; June Tabor. These well-known artists (and many more) all sing and record Bob's music. Seasoned veterans and novices alike are drawn to the complex, warm-hearted spirituality and captivatingly clear-cut melodies of Franke's songs.
"It's his integrity. I always think of Bob as if Emerson and Thoreau had picked up acoustic guitars and gotten into songwriting. There's touches of Mark Twain and Buddy Holly in there, too."
- Tom Paxton
